I LOVE when shit like this happens, haha.

Okay first of all watch this:

(Disable Above Playlist First)

It was just struck by lightning and burned down:

“Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.” – Exodus 20:4 (the “ten commandments” bit of exodus for those who don’t know)

Bonus Fun Fact: During filming, James Caviezel who played Jesus in Mel Gibson’s The Passion Of The Christ was struck by lightning several times.

He later did a press conference where he claimed it was… guess who?  Yup, Satan trying to stop the film being made.

  2. agnophilo says:

    @YouTOme – : )  They were retarded for making something that big out of flammable materials. And the point is that it’s a big ole chunk of blasphemy and it got smote : PI find that very funny.

  3. What did they make it out of? Regardless, it made me happy to see it burn. =]

  4. Jesus takes one in the shorts and there you are gloating like a big goon!

  5. YouToMe says:

    @agnophilo -  yeah, i hear ya. And, i was just messing with ya

  6. agnophilo says:

    @PervyPenguin – : )@Sounds0fLaughter – I think some polymer concoction.  It wasn’t intelligently designed : P@LoBornlytesThoughtPalace – Jesus did?  I thought the graven image forbidden by jesus “took one in the shorts”.@YouTOme – : P

  7. And they’re going to rebuild! Some people just can’t take a hint.

  8. Loved it!!!  Most of my Christian friends are disgusted that so much money was spent on this statue in the first place.  Ya know, money that could have been used to feed the hungry, help the homeless, etc…

  9. agnophilo says:

    @ElliottStrange – Heh.  Hope they use the same materials and “holey” schematics : P@gottobereal64 – An evangelical real-life friend of mine talked to me about how he read that the $$ to build one mega-church in the US could build churches for every man, woman and child in a third world nation, but they build it here because they are trying to make money, not “witness” to people.

Speak yer mind.
