RE: Obama’s Dog Got His Own Jet.

The latest thinly veiled “Hate the nigger!  …er, I mean intelligently disagree with the president’s policies…” smear that’s making the rounds today is the claim that obama took a trip and his dog got his own private jet on the tax payer’s dime.  The article one tea party enthusiast cited which may have been the origin of this fast-spreading stupid myth now carries a disclaimer:

Clarification: Today’s story about the arrival of the Obamas said the Obama’s dog and one aide arrived on a small jet before the First Family, but there were other occupants on the plane, including several other staffers. The presidential party took two small jets to the Hancock County-Bar Harbor Airport in Trenton because the airport was too small to accommodate the president’s usual jet.

For my conservative readers who promoted this misinformation, please let me know if you update and timestamp your blog with the new info.

The above accusation of racism is not meant for you, but for the people who hang their hat on any lame excuse to express hatred for the president, and have done so since day one in the name of patriotism, freedom and civic duty, who only get more infuriated when the facts show their hatred isn’t justified.

Any conservatives who honestly just want lower taxes, state’s rights and the like, or who can disagree with the man without transparent hatred, please disregard the above animosity.

I am glad things were cleared up. There are many things to disagree with regarding our administration ( prior and present), but sources need to be checked and people always need to be careful not to be so quick to pre- judge or assume the worst– it only makes it harder to believe any possible future claims.

  2. He’s not even a citizen! And he’s a Muslim! And an atheist! And he hates America! Plus I hear he fucks baby seals before clubbing them to death with white human babies.

  3. @YouTOme and Mark – Arriving in a small jet before the Obamas was the first dog, Bo, a Portuguese water dog given as a present by the late U.S. Sen Ted Kennedy, D-Mass.; and the president’s personal aide Reggie Love, who chatted with BaldacciONE DOG and one aid. Hmm. I wonder how the dogs’ carbon footprint measure against the average American family?? the article did not say several other staffers as you are claiming it does. I never use the word Nigger. I hate that word and your use of it to debase people who point out what the article DOES say is disgusting

@ShamelesslyRed – He pasted the clarification text in the box to the right of the article, under the photo’s caption. It’s on the page, just not in the original article, which makes sense since it’s a clarification that was only deemed important once the media grabbed onto the sentence that you mentioned. But it’s there.

  5. @rafi09 – Well, then it should make sense that the problem isn’t “racist tea baggers” but the idiots who wrote the original article, no?

@YouTOme – Yup.  : )  Skepticism – it works : )@GodlessLiberal – Totally.@ShamelesslyRed – I by definition did not accuse anyone who was mislead of racism.  Only the people who use this and any other flimsy excuse to hate the president, then get angrier (not relieved) when it turns out the facts do not support their claim.  Like oh say if someone wanted to write a long, verbose blog bashing the president for publicly funding elective abortion and then the evidence didn’t support their position so they started getting rude and obnoxious rather than being relieved.@ShamelesslyRed – I don’t think you actually read my blog beyond the first paragraph.  Or if you did your reading comprehension sucks.  I did not call all tea partiers racist, and explicitly said that I wasn’t accusing everyone who re-posted the original article racist.Just those who are about hate and don’t care what the facts are.I can’t help but notice you read both my comment on your blog and this blog and haven’t updated and timestamped your blog.  Wonder why.

  7. YouToMe says:

Your last two paragraphs were especially profound, Mark. I like how you outlined the difference between just cause for anger and hatred. I really like your statement directed at conservatives who disagree with fairness and civility.

  8. YouToMe says:

” then get angrier (not relieved) when facts do not support their claim. ” Yes, motives can be telling. It’s pharisaical — people can become obsessed with being right (no pun intended). Any person who might criticize or be concerned with their motives, is regarded as evil or lesser.

@YouTOme – : )@YouTOme – Yeah.  It’s getting to be an ugly culture.  When conservatives get their information from sources that are absolutely biased 100% of the time, promoting one side and vilifying the other regardless of the facts and always promoting the most extreme and sensationalistic view, it reinforces those prejudices until anyone who says anything but “I hate obama because he’s a commie foreigner who’s taking our liberty” is an extremist left-wing partisan crazy person.I can’t even count the number of times I’ve said something like “obama isn’t trying to use healthcare to kill disabled people, here’s the evidence that your blog is incorrect” or something like that, and been automatically accused of worshipping my savior obama and blah blah blah.It skews reality so much. It’s like being hung over so long you think that’s reality, and any stranger who doesn’t whisper so as not to hurt your ears is wicked and they’re the ones that have the problem.

  11. The thing is Mark…I know lots of people in a town where there is less than 5 African Americans who reside in it. In central Indiana, as a firefighter and first responder, and I only know ONE person who “hates” Obama for his skin color. You are over stating the numbers and minimizing the real concerns of tax paying Americans simply by not being able to quantify “hate” with anything substantial while dismissing the damage being done by this President. Loborn was right when she said you have an amazing talent for ignoring evidence. You do. You argue, deflect and defer, while you ignore simple facts.

@ShamelesslyRed – “The thing is Mark…I know lots of people in a town where there is less than 5 African Americans who reside in it. In central Indiana, as a firefighter and first responder, and I only know ONE person who “hates” Obama for his skin color.” Wow, I didn’t know you could read minds.I’m sorry, but it’s politically incorrect to express racist sentiments, I have known many people who are very racist but hide the fact.  My best friend’s mom growing up screamed nigger this and nigger that when she didn’t know anyone outside of their family was in the house, and then invited her husband’s black drinking buddy over and acted like nothing was wrong.People hide it.  Which is why there are a hundred wild obama conspiracy theories for every one valid criticism, they are giving people an outlet for hatred that they can claim is not based on race.  As I said in this blog and elsewhere which you ignore, you can tell whether someone’s professed reason for believing something is true based on their reaction to new data.  If their conspiracy is actually what they’re mad about, then showing it to be wrong will evoke sighs of relief.  If, however, debunking it just pokes holes in their facade, it will be met with anger, hostility, insults, censorship and complete narrow-minded refusal to examine the facts or issues, which more often than not, it is met with.”You are over stating the numbers” Um, what numbers?”and minimizing the real concerns of tax paying Americans” Nope, didn’t do that either.  I said that people who have legitimate issues that aren’t about hatred are not who I am talking to.  You know this, I’ve pointed it out what is it, four times by now?”simply by not being able to quantify “hate” with anything substantial while dismissing the damage being done by this President.” I think you’re confusing “dismissing” something in this blog with this blog having nothing to do with it.  This blog is not about obama, you are changing the subject.”Loborn was right when she said you have an amazing talent for ignoring evidence. You do. You argue, deflect and defer, while you ignore simple facts.”Oh my god that’s rich.  Yeah, I wish I could connect with the other person’s argument like you and loborn, HAHA.

Speak yer mind.
