@ChevalierSeingal@datingish – Hope you find something you enjoy.  I love finding new music.

  3. @agnophilo – You have a ton of excellent songs, I am listening to 3 dog night now! Good shit!

  4. The more, the better. There’s a lot of atheism in Metal. Often, though, it’s accompanied by Satanic references. Some examples of bands that fit that description: Morbid Angel, Slayer, Immolation.  The following two do not have Satanic overtones: Atheist, and Spiral Architect.

@ChevalierSeingal@datingish – Glad you’re having fun : D  You can turn the randomizer off in the top corner of the playlist to stop it skipping around btw, if you want to listen to a group of songs in order.@Unstoppable_Inner_Strength – Define satanic : D

  6. @agnophilo – If you’ve heard of Slayer, Deicide or Acheron, you’ll know what I’m talking about. They praise Satan and so forth. We can get into what constitutes “true” Satanism or whatnot. But, what I said is that they use Satanic references – and that last word is key. They just talk about Satan in a positive manner. Whether they’re really Satanists or not is not the point. I doubt most of them are, anyway. The one band I do like that I think could be actual Satanists is Acheron. Other than that, they’re most likely using that imagery for pure shock, and I’m fine with that.

@Unstoppable_Inner_Strength – Devil worship doesn’t really actually exist.  It’s more a) an invention of 50’s horror movies and b) something blasphemous non-believers do to piss of religious people.

  8. @agnophilo – I’m not sure how you can categorically claim that no one worships the devil. Yes, true LaVeyan Satanism uses Satan as a mere symbol, and is more about worshipping one’s own self, the application of the Lex Talionis, etc.  But you can’t really claim that there’s no such thing as actual devil worship. Just as I can’t say with certainty that there’s no one in the world that worships concrete blocks, or wooden cabinets or anything else for that matter.

    I request Apocalyptica =)

  10. @agnophilo – I was about to suggest Apocalyptica as well.  A lot of their music is instrumental but here is a link for a music video I like a lot and I think you’d appreciate. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OrlvOYUay_4

Great list, but you missed two obviously atheist songs by Rush from their latest album Snakes & Arrows.  Check out the lyrics for The Way The Wind Blows and Faithless.

@agnophilo – *Gasp*  I’m surprised you’ve never heard of them.  From what it sounds like, you didn’t like them though.  I ‘d suggest listening to “I’m Not Jesus” at least. =)

  15. agnophilo says:

@filow84 – I’ll check them out, thanks.@helvetebrann – Yeah, listened to it.  Thanks for the info though : D
